What’s in a panel
Wool, spruce and a little steel. That’s the whole list. Here’s where each one comes from, and the lab tests we’re having done.
- Wool
- 100% Canadian sheep’s wool, shorn on farms in region.* Washed in hot water and soap, carded into batts for the inside, and woven into cloth for the front by weaver. All of it in Nova Scotia.
- Frame
- Canadian spruce from source.* We build every frame by hand in our workshop.
- Hanging
- Two keyhole slots routed into a wooden bar on the back. Two steel screws and drywall anchors come in the box.
- Colour
- Natural is undyed. Every other colour comes from natural plant dyes, applied to the yarn before weaving.* No synthetic dyes.
- What’s not in it
- No foam, no fibreglass, no polyester, no glue. No binder in the batts, and no borate or moth-proofing on the wool.*
Lab tests
We’re having our panels tested by an independent lab. When the reports come back, we’ll post them here in full.
| Test | Standard | What it tells you | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Emissions | CDPH Standard Method v1.2 | What the panel gives off into the air of a room | Results pending |
| Sound absorption | ASTM C423 (NRC) | How much sound the panel absorbs | Results pending |
